Vernacularism is a common thread in contextual architecture and a reason for the shifting ground in the built world. It is important to recognize the constraints that exist in the physical, cultural and social conditions. This is achieved by evoking the essence of the place within a modern approach, while exploring other approaches that focus on mitigation of dynamic and changing environments. The following site-specific projects focus on re-materializing the values that shape vernacular architecture.
